Liam turns two!

My parents came down for the day and we really went going and going to celebrate Liam turning two. We originally were going to go swimming, but Liam was kind of sick, so we opted for another option.
Riding Trax is always a big hit with the boys.
We went to the LDS Museum of History. They have a fun BOM section upstairs specifically designed for kids. Fishing was a big hit.

As was the truck of course.

We also went over to City Creek and watched the fountains.
 And got a yummy treat.
We opted for a Snake cake for Liam this year. Ryan decorated it and I thought it turned out great. The spots and teeth and eyes were the first to go.
This remote controlled fire engine from Grandma.....need we say more?

Collin, understandably, had a hard time with not opening presents, so eventually he got to help Liam. He kept saying "I'm not going to let Liam open my presents on my birthday!" Poor Collin. It's hard being the non-birthday sibling sometimes.

Liam even mostly blew (not much spit) his own candles. The cake was yummy and it was a busy fun day!
Liam, we are so happy you are here. You are already one CRAZY two-year-old, which I guess was to be expected :) We love you!

Another fire station tour

I took the boys one morning to tour the fire station by the library. This time they got to spray real water from a fire extinguisher. BIG hit.
Liam would have stayed and sprayed all day.... really.

 Back to the sprayer.
My kids love fire stations. I'm so glad there are nice firemen to give us tours!

Fort Ryan and snow ice cream

A couple of weeks ago, we got a huge snowstorm and Collin of COURSE had to go out and help shovel.
I finally let Liam go outside, and he was in HEAVEN. I think he loves the snow even more than Collin if that is possible. He did NOT want to come in.

Ryan was so nice and built a huge fort complete with tunnel and slide.

The boys have LOVED playing on it. Since we built it, we have been in a deep gross inversion freeze, so we haven't been able to play on it quite as much, but it hasn't gone anywhere. Now, it's just frozen fort.

We also made snow ice cream the day it snowed. It was pretty tasty for being basically free.
Collin added red, white and blue sprinkles....
Here's to hoping it warms up soon so we can go out and play in the snow more!

Ornaments and gingerbread cookies

Ryan received some beautiful handmade ornaments from a friend. SO fun to get them and open a present after Christmas! Spiderman is excited.

Another friend gave us a box of gingerbread cookie mix. You should have SEEN Liam's face when he got to help cut out the little gingerbread men and put them on the cookie sheet.

It was like, my little friends!
One wintery afternoon we made snowman marshmallows for snacktime. My kids hardly ever get to eat marshmallows...
But one we got to make and eat? BIG hit!

Handsome boys

Random picture of me, not a handsome boy, Collin's token "me' picture.
Grandma gave all the boys matching ties.
The Sunday after Christmas they wore them.
They looked SO handsome. Now if Liam would just smile at the camera....

Christmas Day 2012

Somehow blogger lately is putting the posts totally out of order.... here was opening the books that Santa left at the foot of everyone's beds! Yeah for new books!

Opening stockings. Liam seriously hates clothes. We have far too many pictures of no-clothed-Liam. Here are some new shoes in Liam's stockings. Liam LOVES his racer shoes!
Collin's highlight was his own gum!

 Ryan got chocolate.
Going out to see what Santa brought!
 Spiderman!
 Transformer!
Liam ran around most of the day in his transformer costume. It fits him perfectly and he has big muscles :)

Grandma gave the boys Star Wars slippers.
 Cinnamon roll breakfast break.

Man we got lots of fun things!

Grandpa got a jelly bean jar. That was a BIG hit for all the kids.

 What a fun Christmas!
